We were excited to have had the opportunity to transform a 1990's home's basement in Maple Grove, MN into a wonderful family hangout. We helped our clients turn their unused space into a functional, comfortable, and stylish area that perfectly suits their evolving needs.
When our clients approached us, they were facing a common challenge: an underutilized basement space that had great potential. With 800 square feet of unfinished area, they wanted to create a space that could accommodate their family's needs, especially with one of them working from home full time. Our mission was clear: transform this barren space into a multi-purpose living area complete with a dry bar, a bathroom, and a bedroom.
To bring their vision to life, we began by assessing the existing plumbing lines, which were already roughly installed. In order to optimize the bathroom space, we had to make some adjustments that required breaking up concrete. This step was crucial to ensure that every inch of the basement was utilized effectively and efficiently.
To create a warm and inviting ambiance, we opted for luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring throughout the entire space. Additionally, we incorporated a specially designed insulated flooring pad beneath the LVP, providing a plush and comfortable feel underfoot. This attention to detail ensured that the family could enjoy their new living space with utmost comfort.
In the bathroom, we took extra care to craft a stunning and functional space. The flooring and shower area were adorned with beautiful tiles, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication. To achieve a unique twist, we opted for a shiplap look on the walls. Instead of the traditional staggered tile pattern, we stacked the tiles, giving the bathroom a distinct ship-lap feel. The final touch was a sleek glass panel shower door, which added a modern touch and visually expanded the space.
At the end of our project, the clients were rewarded with an additional 800 square feet of living space tailored to their family's needs. This newfound area now offers a place to watch movies, workout, and host guests who can enjoy their own private living space. The basement has truly become a haven where the family can relax, entertain, and create cherished memories together.
We're absolutely thrilled with the outcome of our basement finishing project in Maple Grove, MN. The transformation of this 1990's basement into a functional and stylish living space perfectly aligns with our mission to create personalized spaces for our clients. We're grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to our clients' happiness and look forward to embarking on more exciting projects in the future.
