Feller Contracting transformed a 1970s walled-off kitchen into a stunning open-concept space. The remodel features a sleek kitchen island with black granite countertops, ceiling-high cabinets for ample storage, and a seamless design that enhances the home’s value and functionality.
This late 1970's home had the classic eat in kitchen, walled off from the rest of the living room. The kitchen had large soffits, a goofy layout with the stove right next to the fridge and was not doing justice to the vaulted living room ceiling and decorative beams.
The primary goals were to remove structural walls to achieve an open layout, eliminate existing soffits, and install cabinets to the ceiling for a more streamlined look. A key focus was on incorporating a functional island that would not only serve as a central feature but also enhance the kitchen's usability and aesthetic appeal. This project faced significant challenges, particularly in removing structural walls without compromising the integrity of the home. The right layout for the island required careful planning and consideration to ensure it met both design and functional requirements. Despite these challenges, the remodel achieved its objectives, enhancing the home's overall value and appeal.
Key features of the completed remodel include a stunning kitchen island complete with black Granite Countertops. The 41" upper cabinets that extend to the ceiling offer ample storage and a seamless design. The open concept design successfully merges the kitchen with adjacent living areas, creating a cohesive and spacious environment.
